My Driving Record FAQ's

Who can purchase an online driving record?
Anyone with a Delaware drivers license who creates a MyDMV user account can purchase a certified copy of their driving record online. To create a MyDMV user account, you will need your drivers license number, date of birth, and last four digits of your Social Security Number. For out-of-state driver license holders, please call 1-877-477-7117 for assistance.

How much does it cost?
per driving record.

What is the effective date of the driving record?
Driving history will be included up to the date purchased. There is no option to display driving history posted after the driving record is purchased.

How many years of history can be selected?
You may choose one of the following options: 3 years, 5 years, or a full history. Only one option can be selected per driving record. If you choose "full history" but need to provide a 3 year history to a third party, that would be two separate driving record purchases.

What form of payment is accepted?
Master Card or Visa credit cards are acceptable forms of payment.

Will I get my driving record immediately?
Yes. You will be provided a link to download your driving record after providing payment. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software in order to view/print your driving record.

Can I access driving records previously purchased online?
Yes, you may download driving records for up to 90 days after purchase. The driving record is a snapshot in time showing driving history up to the purchase date. Reprinting a driving record purchased a month ago will not include the past month's driving history.

I purchased my driving record online but encountered an error and could not print it because I did not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, I ran out of paper/ink, etc.
You may log into your MyDMV user account and print previously purchased driving records for up to 90 days. You may download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free. Before calling DMV, please log into MyDMV and select "My Driving Record" to view/download previously purchased driving records. If you still cannot access a driving record you purchased online, please call 1-877-477-7117 for assistance.

Is there anything special that I need to order my driving record online?
You will need to create a MyDMV user account if you do not already have one. Since the driving records are provided in .pdf format, you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

Can I get a copy of my spouse, childrens, friends, or relatives driving record?
No. Individuals must certify they are the owner of the driving record/license history which they are purchasing online. Fraudulently representing oneself for the purpose of obtaining a copy of someone else's driving record is against the law and may result in prosecution. Offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Can I save my driving record on my computer?
Yes; HOWEVER, please do not save a copy on a shared or public computer as it contains information about you that could potentially be used for unlawful purposes.
