Personal Information
Personal information contained in motor vehicle records is highly sensitive and protected by law. Section 305 of title 21 of the Delaware Code defines personal information as information that identifies an individual, including an individual’s photograph, Social Security number, driver identification number, name, address, telephone number and medical or disability information. Section 305 allows the release of personal information by the DMV when approved by the individual to whom the record pertains or when one of the exceptions listed in section 305 is present. Please be aware that under 21 Del. C. 305, your personal information may be provided to third parties when permissible by law without notice to you.
