The map, below, illustrates the new, temporary, traffic patterns. Please click here for a large, printable version of the map. The sections in red indicate areas where travel is permitted. The blue sections are areas that are closed to the public. The yellow sections are areas under construction. A detailed explanation of how to get to the DMV Administration building, inspection lanes and recheck lane is below the map.
From Route 113 (Bay Road)
When using the North Entrance, follow the road to the circle (roundabout). Always move to the right in a roundabout. The first exit on the right in the roundabout is the recheck lane. The second exit in the roundabout is the continuation of the main road (Transportation Circle). The third exit on the right in the roundabout is the entrance to the parking area for the DelDOT Administration Building. The fourth exit to the roundabout will take you back out to Bay Road at the North Entrance.
To get to the inspection lanes from the North entrance, travel half way around the first circle, following the road to the rear of the Danner Campus. In the next roundabout, the first exit is the road to the inspection lanes. Along the road between the two circles is the entrance to the DMV Administrative Building Parking Lot.
When you enter the Danner campus via the South entrance (Transportation Circle). Follow the road around behind the DelDOT Administration Building. You will see signs for the road closure straight ahead. Turn left onto Public Safety Boulevard. Signs are posted directing you to the inspection lanes and the DMV building (see below).
As you continue around the back of the complex, you will see areas that are blocked off with road cones and barrels. These are construction zones and are not open to the public for safety reasons. Please continue down the road, following the signage to your desired destination. There are signs for the DMV Administration building, the inspection lanes and the recheck lane (see below).

Please note, you must go through the traffic circle (roundabout) to get to the DMV Administration building, the inspection lanes and the recheck lane. When you enter the circle from the south side (coming from the US113/Bay Road entrance), turn right into the circle. The first intersection (on the right) will take you to the DMV Administration Building and the recheck lane. The second intersection (on the right) will take you to the inspection lanes. The third intersection (on the right) will take you out to US13 by Winner Ford. The fourth intersection (on the right) will take you back the way you came in. Please use the road signs to guide you.
From US13 (DuPont Highway)
Turn onto Public Safety Boulevard from US13 and follow it to the roundabout. Enter the roundabout and travel to the right in a clockwise direction, yielding to any traffic already in the circle. The first intersection (on the right) will take you away from the DMV complex and toward the DelDOT Administration building and US113 (Bay Road). The second intersection (on the right) will take you to the DMV Administration building and the recheck lane. The third intersection (on the right) will take you to the inspection lanes. The fourth intersection(on the right) will take you back the way you came (toward US13). Please use the road signs to guide you.
Traversing the Traffic Circle (Roundabout)
As stated, the only way to get to the DMV Inspection lanes and other DMV faculties is via the
roundabout. Please remember these rules when using the roundabout:
- All traffic flows counterclockwise in the traffic circle (right turns only)
- Traffic entering the circle must yield to traffic already moving inside the circle
- Keep moving while in the circle but always use caution
